Filipino man, wife escapes quarantine in Felda Sahabat, Lahad Datu

Lahad Datu: A foreigner has been in the lookout by the police after believed to have escaped the quarantine centre in Felda Residence Sahabat 16, yesterday.

According to Lahad Datu Assistant Commissioner Nasri Mansor, around 9 pm, a man known as Jul in his 30s came to Felda clinic to undergo Covid-19 check-up.

After taking his sample, the man was ordered to go to the quarantine centre and during the registration process, the man escaped.

At 9.25pm, staff from the Felda clinic lodged a police report relating to the incident, revealed in a statement.

The police conducted a check his home, however, it was found he left the place his wife.

Nasri urge the public to inform any information about the man to Investigating Officer Inspector Sharifah Nurlin Atiqah Wan Idrus at 014-5907309.

The case is investigated under 270 of the Penal Code and Section 14 of Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases Act 1988.
