PUTRAJAYA – Around 50 association and club registered under the Sports Commisioner Office comprising of National Sports Association and Sports association received approval letter under the ‘Prihatin Sukan 2020’initiative in a special ceremony officiated by Deputy Youth and Sports Minister Senator Tuan Wan Ahmad Fayhsal bin Wan Ahmad Kamal at Menara KBS.
The ‘Inisiatif Prihatin Sukan 2020’ launched on 17 June 2020 is an initiative to give a new synergy for the post-COVID-19, said in a statement.
Around 579 applications were received.
Under this initiative, RM 10 million was allocated which RM 2 million for National Sports Association management, RM 5 million for the programs and activities and RM 3 million for the sports digitalisation and commercialisation with the assistance of National Sports Institute.
According to YB Senator Tuan Wan Ahmad Fayhsal, until 19 August, RM 2 million has been approved via a special committee chaired by the Youth and Sports Ministry Chief Secretary.
“More association and clubs will benefit from this initiative pending gradual approval.” he added.
Deputy Chief Secretary (Strategic) Youth and Sports Ministry, YBrs. Puan Ramona Mohd Razali and Director of Youth and Sports department, YBhg. Datuk Hatipah Ibrahim as well as senior management of the ministry attended today’s program.
